Toy Tonics presents the second EP of London talent GUINNY. Singer, DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. On her new EP, GUINNY has put the dance floor at the centre of the music. ‘Money Don’t Love Ya’ combines deeper club rhythms with raw edgy soulful, jazz harmonies, vocal licks and proto rap. Rhythmically this EP leans more towards Deep House, however, you also have flavours from the 80’s with arpeggiator synths, as well as Organic textures using layers and layers up violins and vocals creating a real character to the sound.

GUINNY grew up learning violin from the age of 3. She went on to teach herself piano, guitar and singing by listening to all her favourite jazz and soul voices and trying to copy them! Aretha, Ertha Kitt, Nina Simone to name a few. While vocally she has been compared to the likes of Rosin Murphy and Jorja Smith, her production techniques showcase her soulful vocals in a fresh new ways. She studied production, engineering and sound design at ‘Point Blank Music School’ one of the best music production schools in the world. Diving into the DJ scene 3 years ago GUINNY is fast becoming one of London’s most exciting underground disc jockeys, playing at some of London’s best music institutions including Village Underground, The Jazz Cafe, The Royal Albert Hall, XOYO. Recognised for her eclectic taste as well as her magnetic energy with the crowd. Breaking onto other scenes around Europe this year such as Paris, Milan, Lisbon, GUINNY also notably made her Berghain debut last year and was welcomed back in November for her 2nd appearance in the iconic, Panorama Bar.
